Goal Accomplished

I've been working on this for a long time, a year actually. I made 52 baby blankets in 52 weeks, half boy and half girl. I made this goal last year as a long term service project for myself. In our stake the last couple of years (since we've lived here), each year they have done a baby bundles project where they make and collect baby items to bundle and give to local hospitals to give to moms that don't have anything for their new babies. I really love that project and that is what inspired this project. I haven't confirmed either way whether our stake is doing that particular project again, but it doesn't particularly matter to me how the blankets get to the babies that need them as long as they get there. Fortunately there are many organizations that help get blankets to babies that need them, so if we don't do that project this year I will just find another way to donate them. In any case I've really enjoyed doing these and it makes me happy to see them finished and ready to go to those little babies that need them.

  2. That is impressive! We need you here to help. There are several sisters who need baby items, including one from Africa that just had a baby on Friday. They had nothing for him (we just confirmed she was pregnant two weeks ago). Luckily our ward is awesome and has rallied around them, however I think they still need quite a bit. They didn't have a car seat, bed, or any clothes.
Maybe I should just improve my sewing skills and do something similar here.
    You are awesome!

  3. That is amazing. I would love to do something like that. I just need a sewing machine. I've started crocheting a blanket, but it takes so long and I don't think it's soft enough for babies. Maybe Adam will get me a sewing machine for Christmas.
