kids' party

My kids both have birthdays in early July so I opted to do a joint party for them and they couldn't be happier. After all they are only 1 and 3. Maybe when they are older we will seperate the celebrations a little more. Anyway, I knew that the few weeks prior to their birthdays were going to be pretty busy so I didn't want to add too much stress by making their party too much work. Of course, I still worried about some things, but I can't help that. It was very simple, the theme was just summer birthday and green. We did it at a park nearby that has water - almost a must for mid-summer. The only food we had was cupcakes and drinks. Other than that we just brought a few things to decorate (indicate that is was a party) and toys for the kids to play with. We brought buckets, squirt guns, balls, bubbles, chalk, etc. Really the only creating I did was the invitations:

(which btw I put the wrong address - not such a good idea)

and cupcake toppers and photo timelines of the kids:
I considered doing goody bags, but it turned out better not to this time. The kids had a lot of fun and the party was great (just a little hot)

Baby Girl Shower

I co-hosted a baby shower today. But I am totally kicking myself because I didn't take any pictures of the actual shower! I didn't even think about my camera during it. Anyway, we had a great time and everything turned out wonderfully.

I have pictures of a few of the things that I did for it (banner, invitations, etc) because I took these before the shower. I made a few flower arrangements too. But the food was amazing (my friend and co-host was the mastermind for that). We had souffle, muffins, fruit, and juice. Yum! We played a couple of games and she opened presents. We got to "oooo" and "awww" over the cute baby girl things.

Baby Shower

This is the mother-of-honor and her mom and '2nd' mom.
My friend MaryAnn and I hosted a baby shower today for our friend Kimberly, who is expecting her second baby. It was a lot of fun to put together.

The food

We did a teddy bear theme so we had chocolate covered cinnamon bears, cinnamon bears,
chocolate covered gummy bears, gummy bears, teddy grahams, straw'bearies', and some other candies and fruit and dip. I made that banner.

We had this at the door so they knew which room we were in. It had the papers for our first couple of games (one of the games was guessing the candies in the jars). I also arranged those flowers (they were left over from my sister-in-laws wedding last week shhh don't tell).

We decorated with teddy bears all over the place.

These were the invitations - but I smudged out personal information.

One of the games was thinking of famous bears.

One game was guessing how many candies there were in a bottle, sippy cup and baby food jar.

We coordinated all the papers to be teddy bears and blue and brown.

MaryAnn did this game about child 'bearing' stories. It was a lot of fun.
