This was a really fun and easy project. I LOVE it. I think they turned out so cute. And what a perfect toy for a little tot. I am going to put them in with a gift I am giving to one of my friends that recently had a baby. The idea came from http://makeitandloveit.blogspot.com/. It was her April 15th & 16th posts. I would highly recommend it if you are looking for a quick, cute project.

A new dress for the Princess
This was one of those, "I have such a great idea in my head, but how do I actually make it?" dresses. I pretty much just made it up. However, that did lead to a variety of complications. At one point I was just going to give up and make her a dress from a pattern. But I told my ingenious mom about it and she told me how I could fix it. She is amazing! So here it is - Lena's dress for my brother's wedding in March.
Well, mostly she loves pulling it up, playing with it and putting it in her mouth.

We love FREE
We have been very lucky and only ever bought a very few pieces of furniture. We are not very picky and we are pretty patient, so when an opportunity for free furniture comes up we love it. We have been looking for a desk since we moved in (actually I wanted one before that), but we just weren't willing to pay much. So, when Aaron's dad said that his office was moving locations, getting rid of furniture, and were we interested- oh yeah! We got a desk, office chair and bookcase. Sweet! They are old and used, but hey - free is free! They are great pieces and work really well in our house. Here is a pic of the desk - it is really big (which I love).
But since we have it in our bedroom I wanted to paint it. What do you think? I also want to re-cover the chair, but have no idea how to do that or how difficult it would be, so we will see.
And I have also been wanting a big bookcase since we moved here. However, I thought that was going to be a while, so I hadn't been actively searching for one. So when this fell into our hands I was so happy!
I also pulled out the flowers from our wedding. They were just chillin' in boxes in a cupboard. And I revamped some of them to make the arrangement on top of the bookcase. I'm still not sure if I love the arrangement. I want one up there, I'm just not sure if I am happy with how it turned out. What do you think?

Thanks again, Twitchells for helping us get this furniture. We love them!
