Thayne's Coming Home Outfit

My idea for this project initially came from here. Although I didn't follow her instructions. Her tutorial is for a hat and blanket. Obviously I added to that and changed them as well. But I thought I should give credit to the spark that triggered the idea. BTW, I love her blog; she has great ideas.
The blanket was more difficult than I expected. Probably because I expected it to be very easy. My problem was that I am not used to working with knits. I had a hard time keeping everything flat and not stretching weird. I had to do a lot more pinning than I do with regular woven fabrics. Even then, it didn't turn out perfect, but I like it anyway.

I bought a little onesie and embellished it with a "T". I think I will call him little T when he gets here. :) Aaron teasingly asked if the T was for Twitchell. I told him sure, even though we both know it is for Thayne.

Then I made a little hat. I kinda went off the tutorial and kinda went off a hat from when Landon was a baby.

These pants I patterned after the pair that Landon wore coming home from the hospital. I hope they fit him.

Altogether I am pleased as punch and very excited to bring my little man home in them.

V-day shirt

Landon was not left out this Valentine season. But a lot of things about Valentine's are very feminine so I had to come up with something fitting for a little boy. I came across a shirt with a similar saying on it and thought that it would be great. So, I made an iron-on transfer (so easy) and he really likes it.

Paper Bag Scrapbook

I made this scrapbook for friends to write their congratulations, advice, etc for a friend that is having another baby. We passed it around at her baby shower I helped host this past weekend.

This was a really fun project I will have to do another one sometime.

Baby Shower

This is the mother-of-honor and her mom and '2nd' mom.
My friend MaryAnn and I hosted a baby shower today for our friend Kimberly, who is expecting her second baby. It was a lot of fun to put together.

The food

We did a teddy bear theme so we had chocolate covered cinnamon bears, cinnamon bears,
chocolate covered gummy bears, gummy bears, teddy grahams, straw'bearies', and some other candies and fruit and dip. I made that banner.

We had this at the door so they knew which room we were in. It had the papers for our first couple of games (one of the games was guessing the candies in the jars). I also arranged those flowers (they were left over from my sister-in-laws wedding last week shhh don't tell).

We decorated with teddy bears all over the place.

These were the invitations - but I smudged out personal information.

One of the games was thinking of famous bears.

One game was guessing how many candies there were in a bottle, sippy cup and baby food jar.

We coordinated all the papers to be teddy bears and blue and brown.

MaryAnn did this game about child 'bearing' stories. It was a lot of fun.
