Birthday sock cupcakes

I saw an idea for a birthday gift for young women - Young Women's birthday sock cupcakes. So I put together a few to give to my girls on their birthdays.  Sock cupcakes are a cute little gift idea for anyone. But since this year's youth theme is stand in holy places it is especially cute.

A shirt for Thayney

(the shirt's not blurry, just the picture is)

My baby is about to turn one. Crazy! They just keep growing! I am hoping to do a little cookies and milk party for his first birthday just with family. But I thought it would be fun to make him a special shirt. So I painted one with baby cookie monster on it. This might be the most complicated fabric painting I've done so far. It was really fun though.

Simple Birthday Pennants

Two of our kids have birthdays at the beginning of July, so 'tis the season to decorate. I made three of these simple pennant banner things. They liven up the place and make it feel festive. :)

I just cut a bunch of triangles out of construction paper and sewed them together in a rainbow pattern. I love all the bright colors.

kids' party

My kids both have birthdays in early July so I opted to do a joint party for them and they couldn't be happier. After all they are only 1 and 3. Maybe when they are older we will seperate the celebrations a little more. Anyway, I knew that the few weeks prior to their birthdays were going to be pretty busy so I didn't want to add too much stress by making their party too much work. Of course, I still worried about some things, but I can't help that. It was very simple, the theme was just summer birthday and green. We did it at a park nearby that has water - almost a must for mid-summer. The only food we had was cupcakes and drinks. Other than that we just brought a few things to decorate (indicate that is was a party) and toys for the kids to play with. We brought buckets, squirt guns, balls, bubbles, chalk, etc. Really the only creating I did was the invitations:

(which btw I put the wrong address - not such a good idea)

and cupcake toppers and photo timelines of the kids:
I considered doing goody bags, but it turned out better not to this time. The kids had a lot of fun and the party was great (just a little hot)

Birthday shirt

It's been a while since I posted anything. I have been busy enjoying summer. Both my kids had birthdays this past week and I intended to make them both birthday shirts, but never got around to doing Landon's. I honestly don't mind that I never got to it. I did make one for Lena, but it is very simple because I knew that if I did anything more it would never happen. So here it is -

Just a simple green circle and pink one. I made it to match this cute skirt I bought for her. Although it is very simple I think it is cute. And really it was for me; one year olds couldn't care less what clothes they are wearing. :)
